ANZUS Campaign Operation Cold Response is in full swing. Now 5 weeks in the wing has learnt the value of planning and coordination in combating the extensive SAM and Air threat the server environment offers.

Layered modern SAM systems with mobile SHORAD systems that pop up have created some classic SAMTRAPS. With SU-33 and SU-30 aircraft providing CAP and Intercept over the FEBA there has been some great experiences that highlight good teamwork and sometimes the lack of it.

The Kola Peninsular is proving to be an awesome server environment and the ever changing weather and snow storms can make a routine server flight interesting and the approach hazardous due to the mountainous terrain of Norway.
